Serving Travelers Rest and the northern Upstate

For families in Travelers Rest, quality addiction care is only a short drive away. South Carolina Addiction Treatment provides medical detox and inpatient rehab in a small, home-like setting in nearby Simpsonville, so Travelers Rest residents can start treatment quickly and stay close to the people who support them.

Travelers Rest sits north of Greenville at the foot of the Blue Ridge, known as the gateway to the Cherokee Foothills and a hub of the Swamp Rabbit Trail. From Travelers Rest, the Simpsonville campus is about a thirty-minute drive south via US-25 and I-385, still an easy day trip for family visits during treatment.

A close-knit mountain-edge community, Travelers Rest has not been spared the Upstate's rise in fentanyl and alcohol harm. SCAT offers Travelers Rest residents an accredited, family owned program for medically supervised detox and residential care, delivered in a small, home-like setting rather than a large facility far from home.

What a wonderful experience! This was my first time in a long detoxing stay. They set you up for success and give you all the tools to prepare yourself for after care. An awesome staff that truly cares about you! The chefs are fantastic and they have plenty of snacks to eat. They give you all your medicine and therapy. There are too many people to thank! I highly recommend SCAT for your recovery.

I had the best experience at South Carolina Addiction Treatment! This was my third time in a detox facility and it was by far the best and most loving community I have been apart of. The staff is outstanding. They really do care about their clients and want to see people recover and succeed in life. I have never been offered so much support and help like I did at S.C.A.T in my life. Please, if you feel like you need help and are thinking about going to a detox/ treatment facility, call S.C.A.T, you won’t regret it!

I have been to drug treatment on three other occasions. When I arrived here, I was dealing with several different issues besides my drug problems. Kristine and Tammy help me through some very serious personal situations, as well as Amanda. I would highly recommend this facility. Because now I’m going to a longer treatment facility, which I have never done in my life, and if they hadn’t helped me, I wouldn’t have become the spiritual person that I’ve become now, which I was not before. And I love those three staff members for life.

Why choose SCAT

Why Travelers Rest Chooses South Carolina Addiction Treatment

For Travelers Rest residents, SCAT provides accredited, family owned addiction care within an easy drive: medically supervised detox and a residential week on one Simpsonville campus, with admissions handled in a single confidential call.

Family owned and operated

SCAT is the only family owned and operated addiction treatment facility in South Carolina, and that close-knit spirit mirrors the mountain-edge community Travelers Rest is known for. Every client is greeted by name, never processed as a case number.

Medically supervised detox

Addiction-trained nurses and physicians staff the detox unit around the clock, so clients from the northern Upstate begin withdrawal under steady medical supervision. Comfort and safety are monitored 24/7 from the very first hour.

Small and personal, 16 beds

Capped at just 16 beds, SCAT keeps its community-oriented model intimate rather than institutional. Clients arriving from the Blue Ridge foothills settle into a program small enough for the whole team to truly know each person.

Integrated dual-diagnosis care

Depression, anxiety, and trauma are treated alongside addiction by one clinical team, not scattered across separate providers. A client works through the full picture together, in a single coordinated plan of care.

Same-day, in-network admissions

Benefits are verified before a client commits to anything, and same-day admission is available for those making the short trip down US-25 and I-385. SCAT is in network with Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, Molina, Ambetter, Magellan, and MedCost.

A family and community for life

When a client heads back north toward the Cherokee Foothills after discharge, the connection to SCAT holds. A direct line to the alumni team and the SOAR community keeps that family-for-life support close.
